New EU legislation called the GDPR now sets out comprehensive requirements for all companies handling the personal data of EU citizens. We've updated our Privacy Policy in line with the new data protection laws, which come into effect on 25 May 2018.

 

We take our data privacy responsibilities very seriously and we want you to understand and feel confident about how we collect, store and handle your personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains this, and sets out the rights you have in relation to your personal data.

 

 

What type of information do we collect?

 

Website:

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information including name, email and any comments you enter into the “contact us” section of the website.

 

Mailing List:

We use a MailChimp email newsletter for those that like to receive occasional updates that way. You can subscribe to the newsletter here. You can also unsubscribe from newsletters at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe"link at the bottom of any newsletter or by contacting us at info@hit-the-ground-running.co.uk. We do not use your email information for any other purpose than to send you the newsletter. We collect name, surname and email address and the only required field is the email address.

Why do we collect this data?

 

We collect non-personal information for the following purposes:

  1. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services. 

  2. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

We collect personal information for the following purposes:

  1. To process and respond to your enquiry.

  2. If you have subscribed to the mailing list, we use your data to send you updates about courses, events and other Hit the Ground Running news. From time to time, we also share information about related training opportunities from other organisations.

How do we store, use, share and disclose our site visitors' personal information?

 

Our company website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us market our courses and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. We currently use cloud based service providers MailChimp.com for the purpose of keeping in touch with subscribers via email and process mailing list data. More info: https://mailchimp.com/about/security/

This cloud provider store data in the United States. In this case the provider is certified under the EU-US privacy shield framework (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/welcome). In addition to this our contract with this provider include clauses which guarantee that they provide the same safeguards for the data and rights to our members as if the data were stored in the EU. 
 

We may choose to use other service providers in future, if we do they will be bound by the same strict rules which guarantee that the same safeguards are in place, and individuals rights remain the same. If we change our service providers, then we will update the details on this page.

How do we use cookies and other tracking tools?

 

This website uses Google Analytics to analyse how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are small text files placed on your computer to collect anonymous information.

No personally identifiable information is collected and we cannot tell who has browsed through the site.

 

Google Analytics does, however, let us know which country someone is in if they visit the site, how they came to the site (for example a Google search) and what sort of browser they use.

 

Your IP address is also collected when you visit a site like ours that uses Google Analytics. This typically narrows down a visitor’s position to within around 50km. We do not use IP address information in any way to identify users, or computers. Google also says it will not associate your IP address collected through Google Analytics with any other Google product.

We have set the retention period for Google Analytics information to 26 months. This enables us to look back at a couple of yearly patterns of use of our site. After this period Google deletes all the data.

How can you withdraw your consent?

 

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at anytime by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
